Norm Bromberger Research Bursary

The Norm Bromberger Research Bursary will provide $2,000 to encourage research in the area of co-operatives and/or credit unions.

The bursary was established in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by Norm Bromberger to the development of credit unions and co-operatives in Saskatchewan and across Canada. Norm Bromberger devoted twenty-seven years to serving the credit union system of Saskatchewan. During his career he played a prominent role in developing Credit Union Central of Canada and establishing other co-operatively owned financial service organizations.

Criteria for application:
  • Involvement in a co-operative and/or credit union as a volunteer or employee.
  • A supporting statement explaining how the proposed study will contribute to credit unions and/or co-operatives.
  • An understanding that a copy of the completed work will be submitted to Canadian credit union and co-op resource centres.

Candidates who have been unable to secure sponsorship for their study from the co-operative or credit union with which they are associated are urged to apply. All applications will be considered, especially those where the financial support of the bursary is essential to undertaking the research project.
